According to this person (of whom I forgot the name) that process began when we as apes started to venture onto soil looking for food (so from the trees where we as "monkeys" lived). So "we" started to eat fungus, more notable: (psychedelic mushrooms. In time our brain has "evolved", we started walking straight up etc. etc. The next stage is self manipulation of the genetic material of the human species and merging with machine intelligence.
