A message to all members of The Venus Project Social Network

On December 9, 2010, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO/President of Facebook, signed a promise called the "Giving Pledge", http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-10870361 in which he promised to donate to charity at least half of his wealth over the course of time.

At a present net worth of 13.5B dollars, we are kindly asking Mark Zuckerberg to donate 2B dollars to The Venus Project (TVP), http://thevenusproject.com/ to create the first TVP model city.

I'm not very well educated on the cost of building a city. But would $2 Billion be ANYWHERE near enough to build a high-tech city? I seriously seriously doubt it. I mean, maybe if you just want basic infrastructure and virtually no technology...?

I mean we're getting a National Broadband Network (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Broadband_Network) installed, which is essentially just laying cable across the country so most people have access to high speed internet, which is going to cost wayy more than $2B.

What sort of goddamn city can you build with $2B?

I officially hate fresco and meadows and anyone who follows them, thought I would let you know that piece of important info.

But you don't start a film with a script, most of the time. You start with a pitch. You pitch investors/film houses... to get them involved...

How can these people possibly think 2 Billion dollars are best used by buying a big museum for TVP?

I just can't comprehend this. $2B could start the biggest think tank for radical political and economic research ever, but let's just buy one big advertisement with the money.

It's the naivety that baffles me, they've had decades to figure out their action plan. You can't possibly expect anybody to fall for that kind of a pitch.

It's like watching a conman with self-confidence issues.

Merola is an asshole for giving these two a renewed sense of self importance.

How exactly would they 'go down with the ship'? End the ZM?

Or, invite the criticisers back now that they appear to be welcome?
