One final detail to add: The comment that Ke$ha made also has an involvement with the Sandy Hook shooting, which happened around the same time as this song was hitting the top 10 on the charts. After however, it quickly dropped from radio stations' playlists. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Die_Young_(Kesha_song)#Controversy)

Maybe Vigilant Citizen should pay more attention to the news, unless they think that Sandy was faked too, but that was debunked already : http://metabunk.org/threads/1074-Debunked-Sandy-Hook-Newtown-Conspiracy-Hoax

Keep up the good work Clock! Vigilant Citizen is indeed abuncha nuttery and silliness. I checked out the Thrive Debunked site today, been awhile since I saw it. I saw a recent comment on this article:
http://thrivedebunked.wordpress.com/2011/11/24/global-domination-agenda-debunked/
the guy by the name of Kevin (in the comments) posted this comment: "this dude is... in denial, just look around you... I am a member of the cfr and I can tell you personally that the stuff in Thrive is true. Check out our website- denver cfr"

ok first of all, you're a member of the cfr yet no once else who works for the cfr has blown the whistle?. and I google searched "denver cfr", and I went on the Denver CFR website, like he advises to do, so far I see nothing that confirms anything in Thrive.

A quick look at this guys facebook page (click on his name in the comments to see) shows that he's clearly the Conspiracy Theory minded person, as he has "liked" fb pages such as "Alex Jones" "Ron Paul" "against water fluoridation" "Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura" "Infowars" and a bunch of other conspiracy theory crap.

Just because you work for the cfr doesn't mean that you can prove anything when it comes to conspiracy theories like this. You could probably find someone else who also works for the cfr who will say the complete opposite of what this guy claims. It's just like someone claiming to work in the music industry and saying that all that "Illuminati" stuff is true, yet you will also have people who work in the industry who say it's bullshit.
(I have personally talked to someone who's been in the music industry since age 13, so about 10 years now, and he confirmed the whole illuminati theories surrounding the music industry is bullshit. No, the music industry has no involvement with anything "satanic" and if the music industry doesn't then it's damn safe to assume that the rest of the entertainment industry doesn't either).

This Kevin guy can claim that Thrive is right all he wants, just because he works for the cfr in Denver doesn't mean he knows jackshit about their alleged involvement with some global conspiracy. And why would he direct us to the official Denver CFR website if he was trying to prove some sort of global conspiracy? tsk tsk.

Thoughts?

update: it's just like Vigilant Citizen claiming that he sees all this stuff in the music industry, yet you have other people who say the opposite (just like that comment that you posted on the first part of your debunking Clock, the comment where the guy said that he has worked in the music industry for 45 years, and there is no "satanism" or witchcraft involved, none). If the cfr, or the music industry, or whatever is involved in a global conspiracy, then many more people should be coming forward blowing the whistle dont ya think? *people who don't turn out to be fakes

I´d admit, if I saw that tweet out of context I´d be somewhat concerned.

@Newbie Nice going on the debunking there. If you do not mind, what exactly does your friend do in the industry? If you want to keep it private, that's fine.

I've talked to him through twitter. He's an A & R/promoter, and former manager of Hopsin (an underground rapper). I won't say his name, just for his privacy, but he's honest and trustworthy. Through the things he's said and what he's been through, I can't see any reason for him to want to lie.

Governments are corrupt, that's for sure, but conspiracy theories such as the Illuminati is just crazy and idiotic.

Admittedly sometimes the thought "what if the conspiracy theorists are actually right" comes into my mind. I can't help but get rather anxious when I see a comment such as the one posted by this "Kevin" guy on the Thrive Debunked comments section. But I can shake it off and remember that if there really was some "New World Order" enslavement plan in the works, it could have been implemented as little as 2 years ago

and thanks clock, I was wondering if there was anything in that debunking that I missed/should have included.

Indeed, or they could have even implanted that whole NWO thing during the Great Depression- a lot of people forget, but those days were a lot worse that they are today. The 2008 collapse has nothing over the Depression. I understand that question : "But what if they are right?" Muertos had made an article about this, and you can read it here:

It may or may not answer your questions. I hope it helps.

thanks, I'll look at it. Being 17, I definitely feel I tend to fall for things easier than I should be. The whole illuminati thing I took for granted when I was 15, it's been a rough road psychologically and emotionally from then to this year, but I think I've definitely developed SOME critical thinking skills. At the moment though, my fear of the "illuminati" is vanquished. I'm finally convinced it's total bullshit (I always believed that but I could never feel 100% sure. Maybe 98%), but yeah. I'm doing good now. When I see a comment like that of this Kevin guy I initially get anxious, but then I try to debunk in the same way I did in my above post

What do you mean by getting anxious?

^ by anxious I mean getting scared that these "illuminati" theories might actually turn out to be true. I know there's pretty much no chance of it being real and I have a connect to back me up on that. But a year and a half can do a lot of damage when it comes to conspiracy theories, even when you know how ridiculous the whole theory is you can still have that uncomfortable uncertainty in your mind

Although the anxiety is now nowhere near as bad as it used to be. Now it's really for just a second or two then I can calmly attempt to debunk whatever claim I may see, either in my head, or I'll post it on here if it's related to the thread topic

Oh, you mean that nagging voice in the back of your mind that says "What if they are right?" Yeah I get that from time to time.

Today I saw something that I just shook my head to. someone took the day of death of Michael Jackson, Left Eye, Alliyah, Static Major (all died on the 25th of any month), and the date of Whitney Houston's death (take the date of her death, and the digits add up to 25). and then...I think you can guess what happens next. "Illuminati" comments start rolling in like no tomorrow.

This is ridiculous, for this reason: these kinds of things occur from time to time. There's a name for this kind of occurence, it's called: COINCIDENCE. Besides, it doesn't matter if they all died on the 25th, that number doesn't even have any occult-type significance as far as I know. In a conspiracy theorists mind, pretty much any number is "occult". If these musicians all died on a 22nd or a 15th or any other number, then conspiracy theorists would still blame this coincidental re-occurence on the Illuminati regardless, even though the number doesn't have any specific significance.
