An interesting thread, I hadn't spotted it before, whilst sitting here eating my lunch of peanuts, I couldn't help but think of what I might say..

So, its not going to be tested with real people to see if the technological solutions displayed can actually work in the real world..

Nor is it going to particularly help the homeless either..

> I see people out there creating communities. They are not really doing what needs

Says the person who lives in a nice apartment and isn't homeless..

Meanwhile, the rest of us, hello! we would like a nice apartment too!

Oh and we would like to stop starving to death as well please..
(He says down to a budget of 23 pence a day for food..)

> This has to spread internationally. It can't just be a restricted thing.

Communities can be international..

> The first city can't just be a happy community where somehow it's all self sustained.

Any why not ?

Build enough of those, and everyones got someplace nice to live in..

> That's actually quite dangerous because that's going to attract a strange

There are ways to build communities without being throught of as another Waco.

Look at this example in the UK, now do we see them constantly in the news as a bunch of loonies..

http://www.findhorn.org

We could cover the entire planet in communities like that and fix the world, and not upset folk anything near like PJ is afraid of. (Perhaps his mind is too fixated on the likes of imaging every community is like Waco..)

If its just a display centre they could have done this more or less years ago if they had interacted with the scientific and engineering community and gained grants and awards to building prototypes etc.

They will simply never get to this point, Fresco accomplished nothing like this in over 50 years and doesnt intend on trying to do it in the future. My guess is because he is also incompetent at design and engineering as well. I wonder if they imagine some investor will come along and plop a few billion in their laps to build this all in one go after seeing their multi million dollar hollywood film they also will never be able to make.

They are living in fantasy dream land.

I can imagine them getting to that point eventually, but what would be the point :-)

Just another Disney Epcot centre..

People already know they want flush toilets..

They just need a hand to be living in a place with them.

He doesn't strike me as incompetent at design and engineering, only in the process of coordinating effort to do something with his talents.

Though strictly speaking, you don't need any talent at all in those areas, if you just get everyone else to do the work, you just need to lead, coordinate.

Which is what I had hoped TVP would get into, or TZM, but alas no.

Its perhaps interesting how many organisations suffer the same issues over and over again, as if we never seem to learn from others mistakes! (Its almost as if what we do is hardwired into us..)

Anyhow, I've finished my lunch, so back to work for me!
