No. He couldn't live on that even if every single one of the 400,000 members the ZM claims bought one. Merch is a poor way to make a living. Ask any metal band, they'll tell you they get a pittance from that kind of stuff.

I suspect his family has money, but as I said earlier I don't think it's really very relevant.

99% of bands make almost no money at all. Whether the lion's share of the pittance they do make comes from merch as opposed to sales or royalties I don't know, but I do know that the money they make from any and all sources, including merch, is negligible which is why most band members have day/seasonal jobs or run businesses.

Why the hell do you want Peter to tell you how to make money and pay your rent? Just ask anyone else who's had to make money and pay rent which is almost everybody. No wait forget asking someone, just get a job and pay the rent, it's not that complicated.

All you have to do is "pull some change out of the market" as he did and put it into some high yield mutual funds and so forth. Oh and live with your brother who works on movies.
