Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Okay: I going to summarize this in one simple example for those that still don't understand why a RBE as a model is not defined by mechanization. Let's say you have a planet which is 1/2 mile in diameter. For the purposes of this example, it has only air, water, arable land, seeds for food production, trees for wood and simple metals which we make simple tools to manipulate things/build. This planet has a population of 20 people. What do you do? You track the seeds and reproduction of them so you know what to expect for future crop quota - you make sure the water isn't going scare or getting polluted (air), you make sure the land isnt being overused and that what is being grown is in harmony with the nature of that land (diversity)- you track the growth rate of the trees so you do not over use them for building - you make the best, strongest tools you can so they do not break and need to be replaced - you understand your relationship to the carrying capacity of this planet by strategic, statistical analysis, and you do not procreate more than what the the planet can support. When all is said in done- logic will always lead you to a total system's approach to tracking and regarding the whole planet. The consumption of the population relates to the food/metal/wood needs- those needs relate to the water/land/air/seed availability/heath/preservation and so on . That is a RBE. 20 people can live without any mechanization- so mechanization is merely a variable. That' all I am saying.

Level: 3 CS Original | That actually makes more sense then most of the stuff he writes, which reminds me of a child trying to use as many big words as possible to get a better grade on his homework.

"reconcile any of the component attributes"? "comprise the logic"? He needs a new thesaurus as well, if you listen to/read enough of his blabbering you'll start to notice him using the same phrases over and over. Example "gestural statement" and "biased disposition".

Level: 6 CS Original | This is a really weird change in ideology. They started as a commie/technocratic movement that attributed crime to monetary corruption, now they're a sustainability movement that seems to assume people can be "educated" to behave nicely and in a way that keeps society from breaking down - without giving any reason to believe them, of course. It's "Dear Oven, you have to get warm so I stop freezing and can go chop some wood!".
Now I'm confused. PJ believes that some collapse is to occur, probably between now and 2050, and that a movement which plans to build a global RBE, which will most likely not be finished within their lifetime, will be unprepared to take it? Does PJ say "I gotta buy condoms next week, I might get laid tonight"?

Level: 12 CS Original | It's him implicitly admitting that he knows a "collapse" of such magnitude is not imminent. By imminent, I mean ever. He aint buyin' the condoms cuz he aint gettin' laid.

Level: 1 CS Original | Sounds like Peter is just regurgitating Jacque's primitive examples of a RBE without machinery, but when those same people of a village or community runs out of resources they share or notices other villages or people with resources they need, the rule of exchange or a medium of exchange will eventually occur since material resources are finite, and each person has subjective preferences.
