Yes TZM has a second life crew that is promoting it but do to the limitation of second life it won't get far. At that much like TZm and TVP the people who are promoting to join second life are not coders and more than likely have been involved with 2nd life before they came upon TZM/TVP. Their are things with 2nd life you won't be able to do to implement a RBE do to scripting limitations as well as general game limitation.

They can't make a house until they buy land in 2nd life. Scripting and keeping statistical information is near impossible with the 2nd life scripting. a RBE where a centralized computer states how much resources their are will be difficult to code at that it must not be so intensive to bog down a person computer or server in processing the best or more logical form of action. The best they could do is make a venus project theme park.

It's possible to make a RBE in a virtual environment but definitely not with 2nd life i could think of a few off hand but I happen to be involved with those.

Just wanted to throw in using TZM logic based on the debate, if they (they being VTV, and Peter) argue it's not been tested or data is no good because variable haven't happened yet, then I suppose things like air, gas and other things even computer are made up and or not based on logic as well as not based on science yet somehow it works... By their logic just because one has the ingredient and data showing how to make pancakes, and all the chemical components that happens with pancakes it doesn't mean it's going to make pancakes. The fact that they can't "get it" (they being VTV and Peter) is not because of a lack of science or scientific method on aegis but a lack of them not wanting to except that the money system is not all that bad and that maybe RBE will not be the "end all solution" they want it to be. This fact alone is why VTV and Peter have lost this debate with aegis as I refrain from calling it a intellectual debate since ZERO science was used from TZM/TVP to show how a RBE would worked based on the scientific method.

Aegis is probably not even trying to hard just showing them typical economics 101 stuff yet Peter and VTV lack of understanding shows the difference between a college intellect to a person with sudo intellectual skills. It's not VTV or Peter's fault for not understand it's the fact that they both have reached their intellectual peak long ago and I'm afraid aegis college intellectual level is beyond them 50 fold. Essentially Aegis talking to VTV and Peter is like talking with someone with the mentality of a pebble, just a analogy though.

This whole thing is unbelievably silly.

These are kids playing around on a message board. The whole Venus Project/ZM ideology is a pale shadow of the way real ideas are hatched, tested and applied out there in the real world. What amuses me about this whole thing is how seriously these kids take this stuff, as if it's going to make any real difference.

With this kind of reasoning and presentation, no experts will ever be interested in TVP. No policy makers will take it seriously. No one who has any real knowledge of economics or sociology will even sit still to listen to Merola or Fresco rant.

This is literally kids playing in a sandbox, pretending they're adults.

This is why I say the only cognizable goal of the Zeitgeist Movement is spreading conspiracy theories. Nothing else they do even approaches the level of affecting anything in the real world.

Word.

There was a 30 second bulletin on TV once saying scientists had collaborated to create a blueprint for solving the worlds problems, this "Venus Project" would soon present its findings. It was funny, because...well, I don't think I have to explain it, but it was also sad, because if they did it that way, they might actually accomplish something.

Would've been nice to have some folks to work with, now all I'm getting is a delicious portion of word salad every day. Yummy.

I don't get into TZM and RBE discussions, but I peeked at the discussion to see what Aegis had to say and maybe learn a few things. These guys are idiots, some noteable quotes:

"U know Aegis, the way u quote ur college books and college graphs makes this sound so ideal and perfect, the only and the best way. But reality is not like in ur college books."

"Both Scarcity and The Monetary System are now irrelevant. Therefore --> Economics is now irrelevant."

"So far I am seeing a lot of flowery technical language that is largely missing the point. It seems you are trying to establish some things as reality with a few nice looking graphs that are not based on any actual data."

"The life of the average slave was better in the 1800s than the 1700s. Is this an argument for slavery?"

Agreed that 2nd life isn't suitable.

I wonder how many TZM members will play in my virtual environment when its finished.. (And whether they will manage to put together an RBE team to test their theories..)

I got through about 20 pages of that thread and came down with a huge headache. Was it all the black on white text? Or was it the sheer amount of rage-inducing stupidity? Only God knows

Shame I didn't even get to when VTV entered the picture. What's his handle on Colbert Nation?

Edit: Oh also, I remember I was listening to one of Peter's lectures that day too. I'm learning towards the second explanation I think...
