So this evening I was lounging in my condo sipping champagne and enjoying my many luxury items when a thought occurred. The Zeitgeist Movement has existed for what, 2, 3 years now? I'm just curious, and perhaps I may have missed it, but, in that time, what have they accomplished? Have they raised money? How much? Have they kept a single family from going hungry? Have they organized a co-op? Have they broken ground on an alternative energy facility? Gotten a wrongly convicted inmate exonerated? Taught a child to read?

What, if anything, has this group accomplished?

They created a bunch of regional Zeitgeist Movement web sites using Joomla Social. I think the amazing thing here is that they manage to use Joomla at all without hanging themselves.

In short: nothing.

They solved world hunger, but then were too lazy to finish building the website that tells us what the solution is.

I've always thought their world hunger solved campaign was sickening, because so many people work so hard to actually help feed starving people, yet buying a domain and putting up shitty photoshop makes someone just as useful and helpful to the world.

Have they kept a single family from going hungry?

Oh, I forgot, they've been keeping VTV from going hungry and he probably eats the same amount as a medium-sized family. Does that count?

The issue isn't how much they've accomplished (they've only been around for two years). It's how much they act like they've accomplished. When Merola says there are countless studies and data proving his theories, he's acting like he's done more than he has.

Just be up front and admit that you're in the process of proving your theories.

They've spread conspiracy theories, had endless discussions about robots on a message board, invaded other forums who dared disagree with a Zeitgeister and filled the bank accounts of Peter Merola and Jacque Fresco.

Other than that, nothing.

Edit: I guess they also allowed VTV to buy Hamburger Helper.

So, basically nothing. It's the equivalent of that one guy in high school that had all these awesome ideas about how the world should run but won't shut up about them even after all his friends grew up and realized the ideas were stupid/convoluted/impossible. But that doesn't stop him from playing video games all day and still talking about how it's going to be...someday. All on his parent's dime.

Actually, that fits my cousin so well. He also had some interesting opinions on time travel, too. Couldn't stick with regularly bathing, though. I'm surprised he's not into TZM yet.

As Matt said, they've spread conspiracy theories and made Peter Joseph Merola a hero among his followers.

Did I mention they've spread conspiracy theories?

That's it. That's all they've accomplished.

You could go to a homeless shelter and serve dinner for half an hour and you will have accomplished more for the world than the Zeitgeist Movement has.

I was growing some tomatoes and my plan was to wait until they got ripe and then I would take pictures showing that I had grown more food than TVP.

But squirrels ate them and ruined it.

These "squirrels" are obviously controlled by the monetary system. If you'd only use the systems approach for creating tomatoes that squirrels don't eat. Nano-bots can do this, hello!

> What, if anything, has this group accomplished?

Increased profits for blank DVD sellers...

An estimated $1 million in my eyes spent on transport costs to see Fresco/PJ and each other at Z related meetings.

Perhaps several $ million in lost earnings.

> Oh, I forgot, they've been keeping VTV from going hungry

That is their beginning of an RBE test city, after all, its got to start with a single person, and now they can build on it. Your see, in 10 years time, VTV will own a whole trailer park and be able to house 10,000 TZM members.

Its a little ironic that before TZM, on the TVP forums, there was actually a guy there with a trailer park of some 20 homes, sadly no one had a job from what I recal and they was in desperate need of an income source to stop their homes falling apart.

Will we see VTV expand his business, or will it just exist to look after his family, and not really benefit anyone else.

I challange VTV to become a successful landlord with thousands of tenants, with low price rents, helping to change the world, and make it offical TZM policy for everyone to do the same, then we might see 'change'..

Shouldn't we be having videos of his rented properties to see how wonderful they are :-)

He could make a go of it, perhaps installing solar panels to provide the first TZM/RBE free electricity example..

There is an oppertunity, VTV could do what PJ/TZM is failing to do, perhaps a break-a-away movement..

Venus Housing Venture maybe, VHV.

Or VHS..

Venus Housing S...
