"I've never said it's harmless, although it's relatively harmless compared with coke and PCP" - Senor

"To end, I don't see any point in denying people the right to use it when it's so harmless." - Senor in a later post.

Senor, I've been patient with this debate but seriously man, just stop.

I'm inclined to agree with Muertos and Matt on the legalisation debate, because it doesn't matter. I mean, I live in Victoria which is one of the most policed states in the West (and certainly the most in Australia) and it's easy as hell to get it here. All that legalisation would do is put it in the supermarket, but it'd probably be overpriced so people would still go to independent dealers.

There's nothing to disagree with. There are actual studies done that show legalization would have little to no impact on illegal smuggling operations.

Senor Dipshit can daydream all he wants, it doesn't change actual data on the issue.

I can only speak for experience here in Ireland where the gardai have helicopters with heat sensitive equipment flying over specifically to bust pot growers. The chopper might be used for other means, but the equipment and the manhours they put into using the equipment is specifically meant to catch people growing their plants.

The analogy was silly, granted, but saying nobody cares about their freedom to smoke it is not true.

See, flying over Australia with choppers to find pot growers would be like trying to find needles in haystacks. The country is just too big. :p

Senor Dingdong lives in a magical fantasy world where people who grow pot on a large scale aren't armed thugs who will blow your ass away for setting foot on their property.

As I said in the last of our 2974297792953038580 debates on pot, the presumption that it's illegal because it's "harmful" is asinine. Most pot advocates attack the laws on the basis that they were passed from a paternalistic standpoint. That attitude is very shallow and demonstrates a serious lack of understanding of drug policy.

In any event, the debate is stupid. It makes me angry to see kids out there marching for pot when there are real issues out there in the real world that are far more important.

Eh, I don't care what people march for all that much. The real issues are just as frustratingly pointless to me as the 'fake' one's like pot legalisation. Caring about society too much is really bad for being creative, I've found - a real blocker.

My dad smoked pot since he was about 15 and only stopped recently and he gets quite paranoid and still thinks his Ex girlfriend is stalking him and a whole bunch of other crazy woo, so from personal experience smoking alot of it is bad for mental health. Smoking it every now and again isn't really though, just like alcohol.
