On a serious note though: When was the last time you did something for society or your community that wasn't posting on an internet forum? You can take that as a snarky little remark... but I'm interested in knowing what prominent members of the ZG movement do.

Why would they especially be promoting Zeitgeist 1 which is undeniably at least 2/3 a conspiracy theory from beginning to end and has NOTHING to do with the Venus Project whatsoever?

They are also linked with the Zeitgeist Movement itself that promotes conspiracies that Peter says is the NUMBER ONE reason people join and the NUMBER ONE marketing tool.

You know WHY Venus Project doesn't care about any of that?

Its because they agree that conspiracies do bring people in, they might not agree with the subject matter, but that doesn't mean they won't take the intellectually dishonest route if it benefits them. Thats why they recommend people watch the films and join the Movement that considers conspiracies such an important thing to promote.

Considering how the Venus Project claim to not actually agree with those conspiracies, that almost makes them worse than Peter. At least he seems to actually believe that bullshit.

On its own there is plenty to criticise in The Venus Project.

Zeitgeist is also easy to criticise.

What makes it interesting to me is that Zeitgeist and the Venus Project is a kind of bizarre marriage. The Venus Project tolerates and is okay with Zeitgeist's crazy stupid conspiracy side because its given them more publicity than ever.

To me The Venus Project has some nice ideas worth spreading (to inadvertently quote the TED talks tag line) however he has a lot of nonsense as well which as I say is easy to criticise. Fresco himself is clearly incompetent even if he did have some nice ideas but unfortunately they weren't unique either. Zeitgeist's AMPLE flaws just make the flaws in the Venus Project worse when looking at them both bonded together as they are now, irrevocably connected. The only way is failure from here on, failure in new and interesting ways. It will probably turn into some kind of "cult", though I wouldnt use that word, since the term cult to me is about a religion or at least a group involving supernatural superstitions. I would compare it more to the Truth Movement or the UFO groups would be a better comparison. Never accomplishing anything.

VTV is so smug that he wants to provide water for all and that anyone trying to help anyone right here right now is just wasting their time. That's really what the Zeitgeist Movement promotes, just tell people about this fantasy unobtainable goal. Anything else is just pointless. Hopefully some people will get inspired to do something through finding the Venus Project by themselves. That will be in spite of the what they say however, not because of it.

Its a shame that they have so much sway with all those people and then don't DO anything with it. How sad!

VTV is an admin but... Brenton is also an admin ;) (*for now, cough*) I also know a few other admins that don't like ZG1.

The thing about the Zeitgeist Movement is it draws a diverse crowd, its a weird marriage as I said.

It is at its heart a conspiracy movement, as evidenced by Peter recent admission. However because the Venus Project really has nothing to do with that stuff, it also draws a crowd interested in those issues as well. They try their best to rationalise away the conspiracy theories being marketed by the Movement, some succeed at this some don't. Myself and apparently Brenton cannot. :)

I will talk to Jacque and Roxanne about it. But I have Jacque on film during my interview while in Venus Florida denouncing Zeitgeist 1 and stating that it is a set of conspiracy theories he cannot get behind. He said the same thing to me in Michigan when I was meeting with them before their lecture.
