 I shoot you dead. Level: 9 CS Original | I see a lot of CTers frequently refer to a JFK speech where he mentions some kind of grand conspiracy or secret societies or something. Does anyone know the context or even have a transcript of this speech? I'm sure it's likely CT quote mining, but I'd like to investigate further. I've tried some searching myself, but I can't find anything that isn't a CT site. Edit: Never mind, finally found one at http://millercenter.org/scripps/archive/speeches That site might be a good reference for any presidential speech CTs quote mine and/or take out of context. | |||||

Holy feces, do they take that one quote WAAAY out of context. Oh, and thanks Sil! Good to know that at least I did have the right speech. Are there are other speeches that CTers frequently quote mine/take out of context besides that one? | |||||

Level: 9 CS Original | No problem. I think a better question would be... is there any speech out there that CT'ers DON'T quote mine/take out of context? Anyhoo, one that I've seen a lot is Eisenhower's farewell address: http://millercenter.org/scripps/archive/speeches/detail/3361 He mentions something about the MIC so obviously this is a reference to the NWO or something. | |||||

I often see CTers in comment sections on news stories (often totally irrelevant to politics) mention Illuminati control and refer to JFK 'warning us about secret societies' and how we 'didn't listen', so that JFK one is the one I see most. | |||||

I shoot you dead. Level: 9 CS Original | Yeah. It's pretty amazing. One mention of secret societies and it's in the CT world. But whole speech itself is about the responsibility of the press to not divulge sensitive secrets relevant to national security. He was speaking to the press to find a balance...not outright censor, but respect certain things. So it's almost ironic, in a way. | |||||
