The first time I heard him say "soon" it was in 1997.

Despite all the "power" these global elites supposedly have, their depopulation schemes consistently fail, year after year. We have more people on the planet in 2010 than ever.

Just like the rapture, or that hyperinflation Peter Schiff and other "Austrian" cranks keep predicting for the U.S.

Doomsayers are usually vague or otherwise we know they are making shit up. In The Late Great Planet Earth, Hal Lindsey predicted the rapture would take place in 1981 and Christ's return in 1988. In fact nothing Lindsey predicts in his famous book actually happened, but a book he wrote in 94, claims everything he wrote in LGPE came true.

So far the actuarial tables have a better record than rapture predictions. Hal Lindsey turned 80 back in November, so by now he must wonder why he has wasted his life waiting to go directly to heaven without having to die first.
