Whether we like it or not the vast majority of this planet claim to have faith and a large amount of them follow a religion. If we want this to be a world wide movement then pissing on their faith is not the way to go. Please do not think that I am in any way saying we should mollycoddle them. I have no problems with attacking the self preserving nature of any institution or perhaps religion in general on the grounds of the division it causes, but attacking someones faith is not the way to go. I like what Jacque said to Larry King on this issue which was 'I like Christianity, when are they going to put it into practice?'

All I am suggesting is to put a disclaimer at the front of the first zeitgeist movie saying something to the effect that the ideas presented are not those of the zeitgeist movement or the Venus project but of Peter Joseph. I heard that Jacque does not even buy into the 911 part of the film anyway (I could be wrong on this one). I mean what the hell does that make us look like if that is true? What will we look like when Jacque is questioned on the first film? I know Peter has said that the films are not necessarily the movement but they carry the name and with that comes the association to the movement and in turn the Venus project.

I know we do not do the whole democracy thing but I am working my ass off for this movement as we all are and would like to do some church presentations and the first film is hindering me in doing this. Can the ZG members not take a vote on this or something? We are all part of this thing after all. Please remember all I am asking for is a disclaimer. Not taking it down.

The bottom line is that it was made before the connection to the Venus project and it should be isolated from it so we can approach every member of the human race on relevant issues that face us all rather than continuing on alienating people. It is being tactical, not backing down. To be quite honest I personally do not give a shit if you believe in pink fucking fairies as long as you can see that the direction of the Venus project is the only sensible solution to our current problems as a species.

That's the fire test of every marketer - realizing that the most effective way of selling stuff is to bullshit people.

"Hey, let's all support the Iraq war, we need oil" vs. "Hey, let's all support the Iraq war, they hate our freedom".

Or:
"Hey, let's all build Utopian cities and shift values of every human out there" vs. "Hey, some weirdo elite is ruling you! Anyway, wanna see a way out?"

I'm a little confused about PJs passive aggressiveness lately, he seemed like a likeable guy, although we have our differences.

I hope that movement isn't going to turn completely into a cultish end-of-world-fanclub, I had some hope for the engineers in there.

For some reason I can't view this topic. Been having that problem a lot lately, whenever anyone posts a ZM forum link I click it on and it just defaults to their forum home page.

Anyone else have that problem?

I have never posted there, never tried to post there nor ever registered as a member. According to CT's I'm an arrogant bastard, but I'm not arrogant enough to think that they fear me posting on their forum enough to trace my IP through some other source and prospectively ban me!

Ed, it may be my browser, I use Opera and for some reason Opera doesn't like ZM forum posts. Maybe the programmers of Opera had a falling out with Peter Merola? Anyway, it works on Firefox.

Interesting topic, as it continues to illustrate the problem that Merola's conspiracy theorizing (on religion as well as 9/11) has created for the Venus Project. They will never resolve that tension, so this subject will keep coming up over and over again in one form or another.

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, the marriage between Zeitgeist and The Venus Project draws different crowds. Zeitgeisters want to promote conspiracies, while people attracted to the Venus Project tend to because they think its got nothing to do with it... which it doesn't. Also there will always be people like the OP poster in that thread who may well believe all the stuff in ZG1 but realises its detrimental. But as we know Peter Joseph believes that so long as it draws an audience its good, therefore thats why he promotes ZG1. He really doesn't care if its correct or not, he proved that in his ban message to me :)

Hi Virtue Reality, nice to see you here though I would be careful what you say. It seems they don't particularly like their members conversing with the "other side", as it were, unless they are attacking us, so to agree with us would threaten your membership.

And yes I agree with everything you said. :) I feel now just as have I suspected from the beginning, that this would happen, and it would only get worse. Eventually I think only the truly fanatical ones will remain. As for what Peter said when he banned me, I really think he did me a favour. It was not only a final nail in the coffin for me but now is direct evidence for what Peter REALLY thinks about all this.

Nice to see other TZM 'members' posting their views here. It wont be long till there are no real critical thinking humans able to post on their forums.
