This is one of the only conspiracy forum on the Internet that skeptically examines conspiracy claims.

I keep seeing people claim that pointing to one eye is a symbol of people belonging to a secret society.

I know that sometimes, it can just be a thoughtful pose. But some things seem a bit fishy. Victor Hugo always seemed to be pointing to one of his eyes in a way that looked unnatural. It's worth noting that he was reportedly a Rosicrucian, according to the Rosicrucian Order themselves.

Anyway, just look at these pictures His pinky finger was just at the level of his eye:

http://www.thefamouspeople.com/profiles/victor-hugo-31.php

I can understand that in one picture, but it seems fishy and too coincidental to have him posed exactly like that in different ways.

There was also the composer Erik Satie. In this, one of the few pictures that exists of him, he is pointing blatantly to his eye in a way that looks unnatural.

http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/_/33182891/Erik+Satie.jpg

He actually WAS a member of the Rosicrucians:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sonneries_de_la_Rose_Croix

There are so many influential people that had this pose, and maybe I'll do a search for it.

Anyway, even if it's not a symbol of them being in the NWO I sort of wonder if it's some kind of secret Rosicrucian sign. Not exactly proof of anything, but it's something to think about

Oh, and here's another picture of Hugo doing the same pose:

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/c2/Victor_hugo.jpg/220px-Victor_hugo.jpg

Why would he always do that pose? Why is he making a conscious effort to point to his eye during pictures. It's a bit TOO coincidental to be "a thoughtful pose".

There are people all over the world making claims that the Rosicrucian Order uses mind control and evil occult practices. There have been many exposés and at least one man has even written full books exposing them (whether he's telling the truth or not, I have no idea.

Why would you attach any significance to people pointing at their eyes in pictures?

"It's a bit TOO coincidental" is not a rational argument. What is coincidental? If this was not "fishy," as you say, what would you expect to see in these pictures that you aren't seeing?

This organization uses Eye of Horus as a symbol. I just mean it's fairly coincidental that they emphasize one eye. Especially with all that the CTs are saying. And that there are so many pictures of influential people in that same pose.

And are you saying it's not a little weird that he wasn't pointing to his eye in so many of his pictures? With the same pose? Did you even look at those pictures?

Once again you are seeing what you want to see. It is a common pose but more importantly, it's a common gesture and usually an unconscious one at that. I do it myself probably more times than I can count. Aggravation or trying to puzzle something out are two main causes for me. Try posing yourself in a manner similar to the Hugo pictures then tell me, where does your pinky end up at? It's shorter thatn your other fingers, it's gotta go somewhere. Try that same pose with all of your fingers making contact. It's forced and extremely uncomfortable. When you sit with your hand against your head like that at least one finger is naturally going to point towards your eye. Depending on where exactly you place your hand it's going to be the pinky or the ring finger.

We didn't discuss this in relation to the Rosicrucian Order. Before, it was just about influential people in general

Good point, alexastorm. This is the kind of discussion I'm looking for. I'm looking for discussion like this...with differing viewpoints. But I wonder why he always chose such a point and he always pointed straight at his eye...Oh, and Satie was pointing directly at his eye with his index finger. It looked like he was posing that way on purpose. I can do a web search and find more influential people in these poses if it helps you to get where I'm coming from.

This is a Rorshach test.

You don't even get to "secret symbols" of things without first assuming that these societies like the NWO actually exist. Stop hypothesizing about what the Rosicrucians' hand symbols are, and instead ask yourself if you really have a true understanding of who and what the Rosicrucians were and what they were all about. Hint: you don't, so until you can get out of that starting gate, debating what occult hand symbols they use is pretty silly.

You seriously need to get over this "pointing at the eye" thing. It's a simple. rational explanation and if you go try it you would see that it's true.

The Satie pose is the same concept. I don't want or need to know where you're coming from because again you are seeing what you want to see. The last time you brought this up I was curious. We're big readers in this house, a wide variety of publications and I went looking. I couldn't find one person posed like this in any current publication.

Here's another four picture of Hugo doing the same thing:

Look, I can understand if it's one or two times, but sometimes it seems like this man doesn't know any pose without the eye-pointing.

There's at least seven of them.

Althout, there's this one here, where he's doing the classic, hand-on-face pose. So maybe some of them were done in the same sitting, but not all of them.. And maybe the thoughtful pose was what he was going for.

http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_AnVqXEezx64/S_UVzv0v3rI/AAAAAAAAAB0/i2vGsJ_6pDM/s1600/Victor-Hugo.jpg

Looks like almost all of the pictures he ever had taken of him involved him pointing at his eye

Again: why are you making a fuss about secret hand signals of some group when you don't even understand what the group is, what they stand for or even whether they still exist?

Why don't you investigate whether the Rosicrucians really are some secret cabal bent on world domination? You're just assuming they are, so you can hurry up and get to the part where you argue about what secret hand signals they use.

Why are you doing that? Do you not realize that it doesn't make any sense, or do you just not care that it doesn't make any sense?

Saying that he's pointing at his eye in those first two pics is a stretch. And so what if he is? Did you ever have a professional portrait done? You don't pose yourself.
I suggest you read up on the Rosicrucians, you obviously know little of their history. They started out with 6 very simple rules, the first being that members not profess any other thing than to heal the sick, gratis. The only secrecy ever implied was in rule 6, they wanted to remain secret for 100 years out of the belief that their knowledge was ahead of the times. No creepy world domination stuff.

And since I really hate to see people fall for this dumbass shit I'm going to give you two more things to mull over. You want to know what the biggest secret of secret societies is? They have no secrets.
If there really was a secret society bent on all this evil-doing, why the hell have you heard about them?

It doesn't even look like he is pointing to his eye in any of the pictures you showed, looks more like he's resting his hand to me, I do that sometimes myself.

None of these "influential" people are even that influential today. I mean are Jay-z and Lady GaGa even that powerful? I don't see heads of state and CEO's of Fortune 500 companies sitting their pointing to their eye? Looks a little like confirmation bias to me
