A couple of years ago I used to be a huge conspiracy theorist, challenging logic and science with unexact evidence and meaningless ideas, thats until I came to my senses and realise there was more to life than being an angst teen, who has somehow made the goverment his number one enemy.

But there was one other huge detail that made me change, Peter Joesph and The Zeitgeist Movement itself.

When I first watched Zeitgeist the movie, due to it's imagery and it's, well, lack of proper evidence ( I was very gulliable in years gone by, not actually looking at the evidence properly and etc.), and simply Peter Joesph 'sounded' like he knew what he was talking about, I turned to be highly convinced that 9/11 was inside job, goverment were evil, blah blah, but like i said i've changed for the better.

So I eagerly awaited for his second movie, and well, I was unimpressed, not because he wasn't tackling huge conspiracy theories, or that he was talking about the money system, ( I actually found that quite interesting, but when i did my own research on it, a lot of he said didn't make a lot of sense), but majorly due to his smugness.

When I was listening all I recieved was an overwhelming amount of smugness from Peter Joesph, and that actually got me thinking, 'Do I sound like that when I talk about conspiracy theories and acts against the goverment?', and you know what, it absolutely scared me, I realised that I and my conspiracy theorist friends sounded like that, this majorly changed my prespective on things.

When I was finished with the movie, I was left with the feeling that Peter Joesph had made himself a prophet of religion that he created, when using other peoples ideals and evidence and while still crediting them, but somehow seem like he was the one who thought it all up.

I mentioned this to my friends both who I have grown up with and on the internet, and they came out that either I wasn't looking at the bigger picture or that I didn't understand it, they suggested to watch it again, I did and was left with the same impression, confused on what Peter Joesph mentioned about the money system, and The Venus Project, so I mentioned that it didn't actually make sense, they said I was being close minded and the whole 'conspiracy theorists' defence.

The same thing happened on the Zeitgiest Movement forum, and I think it was becuase I didn't understand and kept questioning the Zeitgeist Movies, and where it got it's evidence, I was eventually banned.

And you know what i'm glad they didn't answer, i'm glad that the smugness of Peter Joesph and The Zeitgeist Movement, i'm glad that Peter Joesph has announced himself the Prophet of mankind, to renounce us of it's evil, to save us and allow us to live in a dystopia of anarchy, ( I say this because he really doesn't like money and he thinks that money is the root of all evil), he has made made himself a leader of people who are 'close minded' and hypocrites to their own cause.

I'm sorry about the long post, but I wanted anyone who have read this to understand my perspective on the movie, Peter Joesph and The Zeitgeist movement.

But now here comes the question, do you think that Peter Joesph sounded smug in the second zeitgeist movie?

And the lack of detail that zeitgeist community actually presents, and it's inability to answer questions, to anyone that questions their motive and inaccuracies in their own 'beloved' movies, does anyone know how they keep themselves together, and why they are force to believe such inaccuracies?

After reading all this, i've realised i am condemned myself to my own smugness .................... damn.

Thanks for sharing your story, you'll find there are a lot of people who have gone through the exact same thing you have, including being banned for asking the wrong questions.

I think you're right about the smugness; in both films he comes off as arrogant and condescending, especially in the second one, and if you read his posts about other people, it comes across in text as well. The overall nearly-monotone way he speaks just makes it sound like he's constantly rolling his eyes at how stupid everyone else is.

When it comes to believing fantastic things, everyone has a different way to live with it, so there's no real way to know how someone can believe something they do.

I'm pretty arrogant myself, and I often mention that I'm just some asshole on the Internet, but at least I'm not the one pretending to change the world.

Yup. It's also hard not to sound smug when every other word you say is "sheeple" (referring to the rank and file Ct'ers, not PJ).

At any rate, thanks for the story.

Yup he is smug, anti credentialist, a fake, a guru, a high school drop out, a hypocrit and a crazy conspiracy theorist. And I haven't even started on Jacque and Roxanne.

I am not perfect in fact I have a lot of faults myself, but I would never dare to start up a movement on the internet to "save the world" based off the back of hate for your country and government and a pile of conspiracy theories.

Only a megalomaniac would think of something like that and carry it out.

I used to be a member of their cult too, but I realised it was all a crock of shit and bailed.

Yep, their almost "anti-anything" tone with the idea that TVP is the only solution that can work (which still remains collectivist vaporware) is what made me not get caught up in co-signing this movement. This tone is what will make persons who criticise its ideas and claims get banned or people with credentials or more realistic alternatives get ignored. And I have noticed many people on TZM forums have very little understanding of economics.

Another smugness by them is the idea that the Scientific Method is for valued judgments and decision making of the "best solution" to fit all desires when in reality TSM is a self corrective continuation of discovering what models best describe or explain what wee see or experienced with predictability.

To be honest I think the only thing that I can credit Jacques,Roxanne and Peter with is getting technocratic ideas out to another generation but for everything else nothing.I was actually embaressed when my brother found out about the Venus Project. As you said on your blog anticultist I too want them to go mainstream so they can be publicly humiliated exposed and then we can finally get this show on the road

I still like a lot of things about TVP, but I've come to the conclusion that it's basically been destroyed by TZM and will never be taken seriously outside of it. Exactly what I feared when I wrote my Zeitgeist: Addendum article.

The concept of a R.B.E. might evolve naturally long after we and this group [TZM/TVP] of fakers have dissapeared and been forgotten.

TVP is nothing in the grand scheme of human existance.
This little fad/cult movement that doesn't move anything but dvds and videos refuse to accept that they have no say or ability to change the course of human events. They have actively participated in its public annihalation and demise and will continue to do so under the misguided belief they are helping things by being a bunch of unruly gatekeepers.

My advice forget about TVP and just take the good parts of R.B.E., what little there are, and embody them in your own existance somehow.

I'm surprised that Jacque, after reading all those books about human behavior, doesn't really use and form of strategic action in his own endeavors.

I get the same idea when thinking about PJ - he despises the market system so he stops trading. Why? I would trade even more, so you gain an advantage over the followers of a flawed system.

Just sitting around saying "Well, we can't just build cities it has to be global" is like saying "I don't want to lift 100 pounds, I want to be a bodybuilder and lift 300", but that's what TVP/TZM has become. I can't judge their ideas, because they don't publish anything, and the lectures...well, it's nice to hear neomarxism with a bigger audience, they deserve some credit for that.

Nanos is a long time member who was possibly one of the more neutral people they ever had, as well as being a nice guy and clever.

Shit... round of applause to who ever made that video if you are viewing this.

Ah right, I was hoping to answer that one!

FX [ ] is a means of expressing an action, think of it as 'effects' (I learnt it when I first came online some 15 years ago and have used it ever since.. though sometimes I just put things in ()'s.)

So I might say:

FX [ sneezes ]

Or FX [ Imagines topless gogo dancers.. ]

And shudder means, shock, suprise, disbelief, amazement:

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/shudder

> to shake or tremble suddenly and violently, as from horror, fear, aversion, etc.

http://www.ldoceonline.com/dictionary/shudder_1

> to shake for a short time because you are afraid or cold, or because you
> think something is very unpleasant:

> 3I shudder to thinkspoken used to say that you do not want to think about something
> because it is too unpleasant:

> shudder at something phrasal verb
> to think that something is very bad or unpleasant: If you love skiing but shudder
> at the cost, take advantage of our superb family offer.
> He shuddered at the thought of the conflict ahead.

As I was shocked by what someone said when they wrote:

>> All of Peter's material is the most healthy thinking...it's good for you.

If they had said some of it, I wouldn't have been so shocked!

Anyhow, you can always find me/etc. on my own little forums if need be, (Which also come with a free live chat thingy too..) http://www.bravenewdawn.com (Took me 2 years to come up with that new name!)

There is a guest area you don't need to sign up for to post. (Same goes with the live chat too.) So I'm always available to complain to :-) I mean offer constructive advice.. ;-)

Being unavailable as many people are the higher up they go in an organisation always strikes me as a problem, as people can so easily lock themselves away in their ivory tower and lose touch with the common man. As such I hope to avoid that problem becoming a problem myself.

And of course, it helps to actually listen and impliment suggestions..

More smugness from Merola:

Wait until I re-release it in a number of weeks with a near 300 page Source Guide that is being put together by a team of researchers I have hired. (I am busy working on the third film so my time is limited.) The religion section is actually the strongest of the whole film, believe it or not. What you find online to debunk it is really sad when one actually traces the history.

As far as the Movement- No the films are not the Movement as they extend into subjects that are simply not relevant. However, Z1 is less of a traditional docu than a challenge in critical thought. There are also deliberate exaggerations as the work is artistic in it means. It is a combination of gesture and fact and is deliberately provocative.

I actually like that it has some errors right now, for it forces/encourages people to research. However, for the sake of clarify, the few errors that do exist will be removed in the new version, not to mention a good deal of updating and expansion. This Update has been on my harddrive for many months...but I wanted to make sure a source guide comes out at the same time as "debunkers" have it too easy with Zeitgeist in film form as the pace of the film is extremely fast and there is a lack of explanation for points. Therefore the attacks come easy to those who do not have the ability/interest to research on their own.

So he says he is paying/hiring people to research for him.
Then he says people debunking his film get it too easy because they do not do their own research or have the ability to.
he says it has errors in it but they are intentional to promote critical thinking

Does anyone smell the pile of bull shit wafting from this post ?

He is such a fucking idiot, I can not believe he can just outright say his film is full of holes and he needs some professional researchers to fix his terrible job.

Then says all his mistakes were intentional.

And then has the audacity to say that people debunking his shoddy research have it easy because they dont have the ability or do not do their own research !!

Even though his original movie is all other peoples faulty research ala Acharya S, Jordan Maxwell, Alex Jones.

Seriously if this guy got any more stupid I would probably faint.

Yeh Anticultist, that sounds like "damage control/I don't directly want to say I am wrong" rhetoric. At the last minute, he now wants to say Z1 had exaggerations/lies/errors deliberately to spark critical thinking after the fact that informed individuals debunked it.

Well, what choice has he got? If he admits the movie is bullshit his followers will lose faith in him. The whole ZM is based on Merola being the undisputed leader, so clearly he can't have that.

I think what he means is that he'll be copy and pasting more Acharya S, or she'll just be writing it directly. I like how he states how many pages it is, I'm sure it has to do with overloading people with information, fairly common with conspiracy theorists.

"300 pages, it must be true!"

>> The religion section is actually the strongest of the whole film, believe it or not.

Yeah, when someone gets a time machine and makes Horus the sun god rather than Ra, I'll be impressed. What Acharya S (and people like Gerald Massey who she copies a lot) actually do is take different aspects of the Egyptian mythology spread across hundreds of years and pretend as if it was all at the same time, and thus comparisons are apt and accurate.

$100 on Acharya S and Gerald Massay being the primary sources for the 300 page masterpiece.

Someone just asked me:

Has Peter Joseph Merola ever won the $250 from the zeitgeist challenge?

And will this magic 300 page conspiracy theorist pamphlet win it ? [this is a pamphlet compared to most 3-9 hour videos that come out Tsarion/Icke]

I think so too Ferseus. For instance, there was once this "Debunking the debunkers" radio address Peter had with Acharya S where they were basically diving into more of her conjecture and distorted material she wrote in recent books like "Christ in Egypt" to prove that Jesus=Horus. How come Peter did not claim in that address that his stuff was intentional exaggerations?
