> That is a pretty awful way to decide where to invest your money.

True.

Which is why I'd be more keen for them to help people earn money, than to ask for it so to speak.

> I honestly don't understand how people can turn an extremely critical eye to
> anything involving the status quo but then just believe whatever Fresco has to

Indeed.

Though, often its not Fresco speaking, but those around him, aka Roxanne/PJ/That lawyer person..

Its why, back to the first point, that Fresco could benefit from coming onto a forum, helping people with their designs and building up a reputation. (I could sure do with some help with the mechanical side of my solar vehicle for example, I was looking forward to some Fresco input.. or even a bit of design work..)

VTV is only helping them because he has a potential to position himself into a position of power thereby helping himself. His motives do not seem ethical when you consider he was a member of the tea party, got booted for trying to take over, he was a member of other organisations and was booted for trying to take over. He is doing the very same here with TVP and if he does not get booted he will position himself right next to PJ and Roxanne when Jacque dies as a self proclaimed expert and next in line of the movement.

He is a typical narcissist who likes to dominate and control, attempting to take any position of power he can get in a movement and hold onto it.

If VTV is so honorable then he would act honorable it would be evident in his words and actions, but it is not there.

I dunno man, it seems like you have a personal interest in making excuses for a lifetime of incompetence from Fresco.

Why?

Why does Fresco deserve this suspension of disbelief that he expects from others? Because it feels good? I honestly don't understand how people can turn an extremely critical eye to anything involving the status quo but then just believe whatever Fresco has to say. It makes no sense.

He's a storyteller and comedian, with a little science here and there. It's like George Carlin, he's against everything without the slightest interest in solutions, but everyone goes "Yeah, you're right!"...but Carlin made it clear that he was just making jokes.

Fresco says stuff like "He said, you're smart, why aren't you rich, I said, you're rich, why aren't you smart" - how is that an answer to the question "If you have solutions, why don't you sell them yourself for a competitive edge if industry is so evil"?

I'm a little confused about the whole thing. Either Fresco has no practical inventions, then it's a waste of my energy, or he doesn't apply them, then it's a waste of his energy.

It does appear like that doesn't it.

That does appear likely doesn't it, based on his previous behaviour with as you say, other organisations, and I've seen that kind of thing happen too, so it wouldn't suprise me.

He might have the, lets say, good intentions about it.

I wouldn't mind if I thought he could do a good job of it. (But then, he probably thinks he could do a good job, as don't we all..)

He lacks, as we have mentioned, the ability so much to see his faults and correct them, though I have seen from time to time, I think, improvements he has made, but its not clear if he has or its just coinsidence.. (As he hates to talk about himself in public, its hard to tell if he has improved or not, as you get banned for telling him he needs to improve..)

> He is a typical narcissist who likes to dominate and control, attempting to take
> any position of power he can get in a movement and hold onto it.

A fair and probably accurate picture.

> Are you trying to bring Fresco down to your level or bring yourself up to Fresco's?

I'm just trying to understand whats happening, and using my own experiences to figure that out.

> Because I don't understand the point you're making.

Mmm.. lets see, what point is it.

Mm.. the point that he needs help!

> I dunno man, it seems like you have a personal interest in making excuses for
> a lifetime of incompetence from Fresco.
>
> Why?

I like to understand mistakes, so I can avoid them myself, as its less effort to learn from others than your own experiences learning the hard way.

I like to analysis, understand, dig about, take apart, figure out what to do to make things better.

As I see it, Fresco needs help, but doesn't easily accept it, except from the wrong sort of people who surround him.

PJ also needs help, but appears unable to even notice this! (Eg. his website costs money, collectively spend more money on the 50+ chapter sites/etc. than it costs to run his website, so if they all just shared a few servers, it could reduce his costs to nothing, and save them money..)

Don't try and convince people to give you their money so you can save the world.

Seems pretty easy to avoid.

Why?

Because as a response to him being asked why he doesn't earn some money so he can build prototypes and gain research grants and mainstream scientific interest he says this.

A rich person doesnt have to be smart but generally a smart person who isn't rich is incompetent.

There, I have anecdotes as well :)

There are rich idiots and there are poor geniuses.

But the difference is that unlike Fresco, they are not at the end of their lives with nothing to show for it.

Which begs the question, what will Fresco's legacy be? Will he even have one? I doubt it.

I think I may write a blog for CS listing the Zeitgeisters' top 10 canned responses to criticisms, and a rebuttal to each one. That way whenever somebody like Three comes here and starts spouting "the movies aren't the movement" and "we have no leaders" we can just throw the link at them and save our keyboards some unnecessary wear and tear.

Three, I am going to suggest that Zeigeisters have something new to say before they come to our forum whining that "the movies aren't the movement" or "you all just hate Peter Joseph."

As with most conspiracy theorists, Zeitgeisters are generally slow to pick up that the arguments they use against criticisms are not the first time in world history that such arguments have ever been used.

It is, actually. I get tired of typing the same shit everytime someone stumbles upon Zeitgeist and thinks they've discovered the answer to all the world's problems. As if there is secret information out there that only certain people can Google.

or

'we advocate the scientific method for social concern ! '

Yet another canned response.

I think this video I have just noticed treats it reasonably well:

three, can you show us the science behind TZM? The idea that behavior is 100% caused by environment is unscientific (or rather, it's outdated science from Fresco's time). The various economic ideas are also BS. And the ideas about banking are BS. Try watching these videos. They are very educational: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-HOz8T6tAo

Edit: also the idea that capitalism will collapse due to a requirement for growth is BS.

Edit: also, poverty is decreasing, not increasing. Same with violence.

You havent even touched on the technological proof of Jacques super city and Artificial intelligence resource management systems yet either, and all his other wild claims which he has no idea about.

Third party and second party science applies here, but they have no need to verify it personally or test its validity to their claims because apparently independent research just automatically fits in with their world, regardless that its nothing to do with their ideas.
