I can't stop posting pictures of poop, what the fuck is wrong with me? Level: 5 CS Original | I Received this in my e-mail. I'm a bit glad t see that when Jason attended this event and identified himself as a zeitgeister he didn't get such a warm welcome as he would expect. I'd like to think because of SkepticProject.com and at that Ed's debunking article of TZM I and II is part of the reason for this. When TVP and TZM actually do the things they claim they are able to do other than talking or using different forms of logical fallacy is the day people may listen, though TZM is dead and it's name is pretty much labeled as a conspiracy theory group because in fact that is what it is. In general I do not advocate the dislike of a particular person though I'm not perfect, however when a group such as TVP and TZM presents their "facts" based mainly off anecdotal types of evidence and various logical fallacy such as appealing to emotions by using conspiracy theories, well then I personally will be the one calling that group or other groups out on it. At that Jason mentions more as to how he was treated versus the content of the meeting. He knew very well what the skeptic community thought of TVP and TZM. You walk into a bear cave preaching to them and then you are upset that not only did they not agree with you but you were upset with a lot of what Michael Shermer said as well when it came to economics. Either you are not that smart or you are looking for Drama to self-proclaim yourself a victim. At that I'm a skeptic and I'm not into Michael Shermer or James Rhandi. Matter in fact skepticproject.com is the first skeptic site I found and the only skeptic site I post on a regular bases. Throughout listening to this Jason didn't really go into that much details into what actually occurred in TAM 2013 but rather used the majority of his time to talk about the people that did not or did liked him and in short how he was perceived at TAM 2013 rather than do what he was suppose to be doing which is of coursing reporting on what went on. I mean after all he was recognized as being the press for TZM (laughable) at TAM 2013 which was in fact suppose to be reporting about the event not talk about how he was perceived at the event because he is associated with TZM. I thought in general Jason needs to be looking into how this world works, his perception of reality is very doom and gloom, not everything is bad there is a lot of good things in this world as well. He also needs to look more into economics at that read up on what a free market is. In general he reduces everything down to emotional appeal without putting one valid argument down, not only is this inadvertently dishonest but this is not accurate and not the type of reasoning and logic one should use to form their entire world perspective. Jason TZM I and II (didn't watch III) are horrible they are not documentaries they are in fact movies that promote conspiracy theories that represent what TZM is and the type of people TZM attracts. No harm in admitting this it's not being narrow minded at all when in fact these videos are very narrow minded and are not even accurate. Also the movies are the movement. I'm just glad skepticproject.com at that Ed wrote the debunks to TZM movies as I believe it had a profound impact on a lot of people not just people within TVP, TZM and skeptic community but to a wider audience as well. FYI Jason Lrod is the same dude who made a video before TAM 2013 as to the justification as to why TZM isn't doing anything but spreading awareness, rather than doing what they preach. This is why I think TZM is more of a religion worshiping a RBE excuse me RBEM fantasy than anything else. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Zeittard Jason Lord attends the skeptic event called TAM 2013. Jason says he was disappointed. When he attended the meeting when they saw his press badge being TZM related they stayed away from him, others asked why he would be here. Jason also noted the Skeptic Society has a lot of guru's, and at the points out that Michael Shermer is one of the Guru's. Jason says anybody that identifies as a skeptic is typically narrow minded. Level: 6 CS Original | Interesting post. I thought the video was surprisingly coherent (if mostly vague and/or vacuous), assuming you don't get hung up on the bold assumption of "democracy and capitalism" being bad. At least the assertion that Skeptics aren't universally rational ain't new. LessWrong vs. RationalWiki, anyone? | |||||
