I'm going through Blair Warren's Keys to Persuasion with a few friends, which is probably the best book on how to mimic cults in marketing ever written. Paid 200 bucks for it a few years ago and haven't regretted it so far. (Well, you can get it online for free these days)

I don't think TZM intentionally uses these strategies or somehow "tricks" members in behaving cultish, but they DO apply them in their movies and "lectures", if by accident or not. Actually, a lot of Z1's success (which is, TZMs success) is due to using basic persuasion principles.

If you're interested in reading a short series on how and where they do it, and how I think it affects overall member behavior, just leave a short note and I'll post stuff as we move along.

I'd be interested in hearing.

I have wondered myself, could I get more members helping me by promising them paradise for no work like TZM does...

If I just knew how to sell digging foundation ditches and clearing blocked drains in a way that sounded persuasive :-)

I would also be interested in seeing this. Maybe we can turn it into a blog or article on the site?

Draft of complete article is online. Will rewrite it tomorrow...I doubt it's readable right now, I'm pretty wasted.

I'm also reading that book now too, and I can begin to see the similarities.

The value of scapegoats, aka PJ pointing the finger at the bankers.

(I notice for example that TZM members will point the finger at politicans, and even refuse to engage in communication with them when presented with an oppertunity to even suggest an RBE solution!)

Heavens know what they might do if we could find a banker for them to chat with!

I also noticed reference to what people need, I can see how TZM promises so much for so little work, which is great for getting all the lazy people onboard, but then there is no one to do the actual work :-)

You would think, if you did that, and got 99.99% lazy folk, that you would nurture that 0.01% who did want to work..

It particularly interests me how one might sell a product so to speak in an ethical way, be it a solution to worlds problems or toothpaste!

One of the stupidest things Peter did was to name the various international and local groups "chapters" and having a "Radio Address" rather than just calling it a "Radio Show". He is asking to be called a cult. The funny thing is I think he didnt do that intentionally he just has such a massive ego he thinks that makes it sound more important.

Good read thanks, pretty much confirms what I have said all along and also even backs up the things I have put in front of people to show this.

Cult behaviors indeed.

Damn, I totally forgot about that thing. Wanted to finish sourcing...but I guess most people in here will know the stuff I'm talking about in my little article anyway, so maybe I'll leave it alone.

If somebody wants to copy/edit/whatever it, feel free to do so.

I wasn't aware of the book you mentioned until now, so found out some new stuff I didn't know, and it also helped join a few dots of things I already knew or suspected too.

Plus I reckon it will help me figure out better ways to put things over to people!

It has given me a better insight and understanding into the masses, which I reckon is going to substationally help me to adjust my plans to take into account peoples basic desires. (aka laziness..)
