Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Keep in mind blizzard has some huge titles under it's belt many of which in are in preparation for launching to the public, Diablo 3, Starcraft 2 and of course World of Warcraft. The Real ID is aspect is tied into all 3 of their major titles along with the forum communication therein. Gaming is likely an avenue to have the largest possibly of having bodily implants succeed in popularity. Don't underestimate naivety. The push for government Internet ID tokens at the same time is a signal to bright to miss.

Level: 9 CS Original | I was in the SC2 Beta, and as soon as they announced the Real ID thing... I just knew there was going to be some CT about it. I'm surprised it took this long to be honest. From what I gathered, you can still add friends in game... but if you use the Real ID for your closer e-friends, or IRL friends, then it links you up across all blizzard games. So without Real ID, I'd only know that you were playing SC2, but if we were Real ID friends then I could see when you switch from Sc2 to WoW or D3. How very draconian of them!

Level: 0 CS Original | Storm in a teacup, having hung out in places (For decades..) where real names was enforced, it made no difference to people being nicer to each other, nor did it impact on any extra levels of harassment.
