"I was wondering about a number of these things too. Does Fresco actually have the working blue prints of EVERYTHING needed to make these cities functional?" - Confused Zeitgeister

Lets say you were walking, and wanted to walk from inside the circle of the city, you need to walk what appears to be hundreds if not thousands of meters to the nearest gap in the buildings circular design to get to the outside of the circle.

Shit design, its like a big berlin wall if you're on the inside.

Also notice there are only 4 pathways/transport tracks out and in from the outside to the inside. This hardly caters for many areas of the surrounding city.
Shit design.

I'm concerned about where everyone is supposed to poop. Is that what all the ponds are for?

I don't want to live in a future where I have to poop in a pond.

I like the 50's style bubble car. I bet it will be super comfortable in that thing in the summer when the curved windows cause the inside to heat up.

i think Jacque also has not considered the disadvantages of 3 wheeled cars either.

If you are not aware here is an introduction:

Why are there so many trees?Youd never be able to see anything from inside your home(thats if you managed to find a way into them)and why do they have to be palm trees?Palm trees are unsightly and very high maintaince(thats not very efficient isnt it)Plus the monoculture would be very environmentally destructive

Also posted on the UK Z forums, my comments there might provide some amusement to folk here:

http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=2073

And all I was doing was trying to help..

In case you are wondering why my solar vehicle is stuck with 3 wheels and not 4, in the UK if a cycle has 4 wheels, it gets classified as a car automatically, whilst 3 means you can get away with still calling it legally a cycle.

In my last job I drove 3 wheeled electric vehicles for a couple of years and it took some practice to corner at 40mph whilst hanging out of the cab to corner without tipping over..

My hope is that by having my wheels in an Equilateral Triangle layout it may help reduce this tendancy, with the wheels some 4 and a half feet apart (They would be further apart but there is a tree in the way..) and going for the tadpole layout too.

Testing will be fun :-)

And with a full harness seatbelt and rollcage..

I wonder if a trailer will help stability or not...

> windows cause the inside to heat up.

This is a common problem I've seen in not just vehicles (buses being the worst here, I suggested in an email to the local mayor that electric extractor fans might help, and having seen the odd bus or two fitted with, home its a trial..) but in many modern buildings in particular. (And why I'm keen on earth sheltered buildings without tons of windows... if we want more light, use a lightbulb!)

What also took my interest on the UK site, is mention of how few people appear to be working on this project, not quite the hundreds the PJ speaks of, sounds more like a couple of folk...

I did wonder when previously they had a nice list of all such people who put their names forward to help on their website, and then 'mysteriously' removed it..

The conspiracy part of me wondered if it was so we didn't know just how few professional folk was actually helping, compared with how many PJ's PR department can magic up any time it wanted..

On the other hand, it could just be some cockup, which, if everyone thinks there is a large team, then whose going to want to volunteer to help when they think their help isn't needed..

Bit of shooting yourself in the foot there me thinks..

Still, nice to see them working on drawings/etc.

Hopefully this means eventually they might have full technical drawings for buildings before I do ;-)

Though, even if they do, I don't suppose that will mean any one of us can actually make use of them does it..

(Don't worry, I'll be making my building designs freely available for anyone to copy.)

That's what society needs, transparent sewage tubes.

What happens if it cracks?

Perhaps yes since the fertiliser to all those trees has to be distributed somehow!

What you mean you can't stick trees together randomly??

These kids are such dorks. They have no idea how to grow plants or plan cities.

Notice how small the roads are, and how low the overhead traffic is above the roads.

This means that all traffic on their roads can only be small, not able to transport large goods, and all those large replicating machines and building machines wont be able to traverse the city at all.

Shit design.

The tubes are for postal service, I think. You'd probably have to buy larger stuff in Lego blocks. And maybe you just shit in the box and send it back, that's your sewage system right there.

They're pretty much just copying Fresco's pictures.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned around and sued them for their efforts. I really wouldn't.

Him and Roxanne went to the trouble of trademarking the RBE term and he refuses to release any schematics because people will "steal them."

Do I think Fresco would do it? Nah. Do I think Fresco is capable of it if he thought it would be advantageous to do so? Definitely.

His schematics are probably fucking attrocious anyway, and if he released them chances are all the architects on the planet would just stash them in the joke bin.

Then actually design something functional and send him it free of charge.

Well, my opinion is that Fresco doesn't really believe any of this TVP garbage and this is all just a way to make some cash off some drawings and toys he had lying around. So from that perspective, no its not out of the question for Fresco to sue. Especially if things between him and Merola go sour and there's some sort of power struggle.

I don't think it would be possible to sue them because he hired them as volunteers to do this and he is going to use these renderings for his site or maybe a video.

His last attempted trademark failed, irrespective of them sending out cease and desist warnings to everyone.

He probably would sue someone if he wanted control over its use. But those designs are his uk marks working for free to promote the con.

Is there an actual contract between The Venus Project and the people who did these renderings?

If Fresco was open with his schematics and did not try to trademark the RBE term, I probably wouldn't think about it. But those are not the actions of someone operating in good faith.

I don't think they have any [actual blueprints]. They rejected us as potential partners, they rejected an apprentice on Z-Day and they don't publish anything, although legal protection for non-profit information isn't that hard to setup these days, unless you face a few million dollars worth of competition, which these guys clearly do not.

The only possible solutions to me are:
a) They are completely incompetent when it comes to business
b) They don't have any practical blueprints
c) Both
