Sorry to interrupt the repartee over ZM tabula rasa and Nanos's solar powered cars with an actual substantive discussion on conspiracy theories.

Has anyone had to debunk Diana conspiracies? If so, what is the best tool to use to do so? The Operation Paget inquiry which found no conspiracy? Is there another non-UK government investigation that has a public record and an express conclusion of no conspiracy?

Granted, this isn't the sexiest CT out there, and obviously it attracts little interest from white American males age 18-30 most of whom have no clue who Princess Diana even was. But, CTs on this topic persist. I'm curious if some of our UK-based regulars often hear Diana CTs and whether it's the standard "the Queen bumped her off" or some other permutation.

Also, in reading about the case, I'm intrigued by the white Fiat Uno that is believed to have been involved in the crash. Official records maintain that the driver of this car was never found, however there seems to be credible evidence that in fact he was identified:

Has anyone looked into this?

I have, kinda.

I don't see a motive for her intentional death, in a grand NWO sense.
I don't think CT's do either. (I could be wrong of course)

Here's an interesting question: do believers in Diana CTs tend to not believe in the standard panoply (9/11, NWO, JFK, etc.)? Do we finally have a case of CTs that, instead of having substantially overlapping believers, appeal instead to distinct demographics? From my view, it seems most people who aren't interested in royalty, celebrity gossip, paparazzi stuff etc. don't give a hoot about Princess Diana.

Because you know the USA, we HATE royalty and monarchies. :P

Maybe that's why we don't give a shit about her death.
In fact, a lot of Americans don't give a shit about anything going on in the rest of the world, so it's always obscure and foreign to Americans.

Maybe that's why my Latin roots and heavy accent while speaking Spanish make my girlfriend's blood boil. ;D

The Brits are tired of paying for the Royals, especially with the austerity talk. That might be why there's little interest anymore.

Are the Royals relevant to UK politics at any level besides being celebrities? I wasn't under the impression that they were. That might be why it seems that only people who follow celebrities care about them and Diana.

Im suprised Icktillians dont rave on about it all the time, since he has personally said that the Queen Mother is a reptile.Perhaps she kncked off Diane since she was all lets save the humans yadda, yadda and didnt want to take over the world.Either that or the queen was part of NWO and Diane was anti-NWO and given the nail in the coffin!!
Heres some CT's regarding her:

Ed, that's good to know. Are they typically mistaken on factual matters? It seems curious to me that these stories assert so strongly that Le Van Thanh is the owner of the white Fiat, when others seem more reticent to reach that conclusion.

Honestly I lived in Britain for a few months, and my personal belief is the royals exist for tourism. I believe if Britain did away with them then they believe people wouldn't find touring the country all that interesting.

Btw, the Daily Mail, like most of the British press is utter garbage.

I generally do follow the royals, and I don't generally follow celebrity stuff (though I admit a morbid fascination with the Mel Gibson meltdown). Perhaps it's because Prince William is scorching hot. I think Charles should abdicate prospectively and let Willy become king when QE2 finally dies.

I was quite affected by Diana's death in 1997. I counted it as quite a coup that when I went to England in 2003 I got to have a couple of pints at the Princess of Wales Pub in London that was dedicated in her honor (probably one of many). But I never believed the CT's about her, and in 1997 I was a conspiracy theorist about many things (TWA 800, JFK, etc.).

Icke claims that Diana had once said to someone she was close to that "they are all reptilians", or something like that. I remember watching one of his docs (where he discussed the Diana conspiracy) and boy oh boy, he had it all figured out like no one else! I wish he used his creativity and schizophrenia in other ways.

"I remember watching one of his docs (where he discussed the Diana conspiracy) and boy oh boy, he had it all figured out like no one else!" - Please do you have a youtube link on that documentary

"I wish he Tused his creativity and schizophrenia in other ways." - Personally I find Conspiracy Theories interesting with regards to antropological value ie creative storytelling

Icke used to bang on about Diana a lot. It was basically something to do with the idea of a ritual hunt (Diana being the Roman goddess of the hunt, though why that means she'd be the prey rather than the hunter I don't know).

The royal family don't cost the taxpayer that much, less than £1 per person per year. The prevailing mood in the UK towards them would be apathy I would say.

It is the 'Daily Express' newspaper that is most obsessed with Diana. From May this year:

She was messing around with that fella, Dodi Fayad who was apparently a father(or going to be) to her upcoming child. Also Charles was messing around with Parker Bowles or whatever the old bint is called and I think they were both going their own ways.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dodi_Fayed
Dodi Fayed (15 April 1955 - 31 August 1997), was an Egyptian multi-millionaire and film producer. He is best known internationally as the romantic partner of Diana, Princess of Wales, both of whom died in a car crash in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in Paris along with driver Henri Paul on 31 August 1997.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/04/20/48hours/main612794.shtml

She was convinced she was going to be killed,” says Diana’s old friend, Argentinean businessman Roberto Deverik, who recalls Diana often speaking of murderous plots against her.

“She said, ‘When it's not convenient anymore, I will-- they will blow me in a car or in a helicopter.’"

Al Fayed, who has refused numerous requests to talk to 48 Hours, believes that his son and Diana were killed in order to prevent the princess from marrying his son, a Muslim, and having his child.

--
One of the CT's is about not having a link/bloodline to muslims which would be likely if our monarchy are really that old fashioned and worried about blood and stuff after all this time.

Yeah, I recall reading that she wrote a few letters talking about how 'they' wanted to cut the brakes in her car or something. I think the 'they' is referring to her husband or something. I'm not really sure.

I heard about that too, I know many quotes of her diary pages were in the newspapers for a while. There were a lot of conflicting stories in any case, some saying she was becoming too much of a loose cannon and you never know she might have been paranoid or on drugs.
