It's pretty long, but I was actually quite curious how an engineer working with NASA would fall in the TVP trap.

He's talking about how inefficient industry for profit is and that the chapters shouldn't use "Peter Joseph Method" of telling people that money sucks and the world is crashing - so what should they do? Show around TVP designs. Facepalm #1.

How should we advertise TVP? Just turn a normal car into an electric car and paint it with TVP designs. Facepalm 2.

How should we build the city? Well, we don't have blueprints but anybody with a background should be able to design one. WHAT THE HELL DO I NEED TVP FOR THEN? Facpalm #3

I'll keep the second half for later.

So its a race eh!

400,000+ TZM members verses Nanos and his dozen or so assistants, whose going to get a working solar vehicle first!

And which one will be better..

I like this bit:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1295249/Microsoft-founder-Paul-Allen-away-8-7bn-death.html

> Someday the VP will receive this kind of money ... i hope so...

Just as soon as TZM lets anyone make any money to give away...

Or even helps...

> Also when the time comes, we could even start a campaign for it, it would transform
> into something even more powerful.

Ah yes, when the time comes...

I've waited 5 years for them to find the right time...

Perhaps after all, someone might be seeing the light.....

> We can donate now to the VP but many of us didn't do yet...

Thats because I imagine folk want to see the money spent on building something, not just paying for Frescos gas bill!

> The thing is always whether or not we are going to get a bad image or even cases
> of corruption within the movement

Yes, it looks so bad for an organisation to use money to fix things, look at how bad Greenpeace look, or even WWF...

Always a risk of corruption, thats why its important to hire the right staff, have safeguards in place, and tons of transparency.

> I am more than happy to take the risk..

Likewise.

After all, we risk putting our money into banks...

> If we ever do donate money to the movement it should be swift and powerful.

That might be a little difficult as there is only a few million in our collective back pockets, and we spent some of that going to see PJ/Fresco in the first place..

I wonder if they will twig that the next step is to make money!

Then there will be tons of it to give away..

Blimey, 2 hours long...

http://dotsub.com/view/2ff2a578-8db3-420f-aa1a-00f741a471db

Don't have time at the moment..

I keep wondering if Douglas is going to fit in or not with TZM, or whether they will listen to him, or if there is going to be a falling out at some point.

From what I see though, there are at least embers growing of doing something productive, just the pace is nailbitingly slow that I can't bare to watch!

Me 2.

I reckon he thinks like I used to think, that TVP will take notice and build things.

They might still..

But if after 5 years of me suggesting it in the strongest possible way over thousands of posts, progress has been just a tad snail like.

He could have, but I got banned, so I'm taking my toys home to play with them myself..

They even had the money to afford to pay for it!

But instead they spent it on plastering this Taxi with an advert..

http://www.thezeitgeistmovementuk.com/news/venus-project-taxi

Yeah, that really brought in new blood... (Actually, having asked around, not a single TZM member I've come across actually came into TZM land because of said taxi..)

Still, it was an excellent use of £3k to £4k wasn't it..

Listening to Douglas whilst I'm busy doing other things, I see he must have been reading my old forum posts about the idea of using a solar taxi to advertise TVP..

Plus it would also cut travel costs for TZM members to go to meetings..

Or even work..

Or even find work..

I wonder what TZM folk will think of the idea after hearing it from him ? (As some seem to hate ideas if they are from me..)

Ah yes, reverse graffiti I hear mentioned.

(Are they just ripping off all the ideas I've posted on the forums over the years...)

Actually, I recently heard its now illegal to do that :-(

Maybe they will steal this idea..

http://www.bewareofthegod.com/wp-images/sky_flag.jpg

I had pondered it myself, as I thought, one would need a really powerful light for that, and would my fusion reactor be a good source for that..

You know not so long ago a TZM member had a free car to give away, I suggested it might become a TZM free rental vehicle, with members volunteering to maintain it, it would be ideal to help those unemployed find work for example. (I wasn't thinking of me, I don't have a driving license! but I did spot one person on the TZM forum who couldn't get a job even though there was some, because they was too far away and he didn't have any means to travel there.)

But after I suggested that, the person edited their post and removed the offer of a free car and never spoke about it again..

Oh well, one can keep trying can't one..

Until you get really bored and do your own thing..

Do you think Douglas is more user friendly than me ?

Will PJ listen to him ?

Solar is bullshit greenwash. Germany sunk a ton of money into solar and it hasn't done jack except making them feel good.

If people really cared about the environment they would be discussing nuclear power.

Shock horror, someone suggests buying land and building stuff on it :-)

Agreed about nuclear power, at least the UK is going to build some new plants. (But whether they will manage in time before we suffer brownouts is another matter..)

Solar has its uses.

Incidently, in the UK there is this company giving away free panels and electricity!

http://www.ashadegreener.co.uk

So its not all bad..

Building our own solar cell factory would be nice, as I hear retail price of panels is 3 times factory gate prices.

Will we own the panels?

No, we retain ownership, however, at the end of the FIT Scheme under the terms of the Agreement with the homeowner we will agree to leave the panels on the property in perpetuity (i.e. forever – for the life of the panels) so that the owner of the property can continue to benefit from them without having to pay anything. As this is guaranteed by our Agreement, this will immediately benefit the Homeowner as it can immediately enhance the value of their property as the installation of our System is classed as a home improvement and has a retail value of between £18-25,000.

http://www.ashadegreener.co.uk/faqs/

Horseshit. These aren't "free." They come from tariffs and can be taken away at any time.

I hope the movie sells tickets so they can afford to build something.

I would have been nice to give some input into that so it doesn't turn out anything like what PJ's done.

It needs to be more like Harry Potter meets Alien..

Well, actually, more like...

Earth 2 meets the Amish.

Free whilst the tariffs are in effect.

The UK government though is good at honouring its tariff systems, so one would expect the 25 years its said they will exist for, to exist.

Its free electric today, so its a good thing!

And if the company goes bust, maybe your inherit them later on :-)

Its at least proof that you can operate a business on a different approach than charging your customer for something..

Hence I like the idea of a power generation company that provides a limited number of domestic customers with a ration of free electric, whilst charging business customers, and also if they go over their ration, charging them an arm N' leg, as this will encourage careful use of the free resource.

This way, you can help people in todays world, without needing any fancy new technology.

Can anyone have your free solar panels?

Unfortunately, no. For optimum performance the panels should be fixed on south facing roofs. Panels will operate on roofs that aren’t south facing but we only fit for optimum performance because we are paid for the electricity that is generated. We cannot afford to fit on roofs where the optimum level of performance can’t be reached. Also, we won’t fit on roofs that are overshadowed by trees or other objects as that will also affect the performance of the panels. There also has to be sufficient uninterrupted space for our panels – around 24sq meters.

-----

So basically you only get these "free" panels if your roof faces south and there are no trees in your yard.

Saving the world with solar, you betcha.

This is garbage to make people feel better.

Would be kinda stupid to put solar panels on houses that don't get any sun.

Its kind of stupid to put solar panels anywhere.

My opinion of solar is that its greenwash nonsense.

The environmentalist lunatic fringe have made nuclear power a taboo concept in America and it pisses me off.
