Level: 0 CS Original | Watching this at the moment: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00t4f0v
And it mentions how in Kuwait everyone is guaranteed an income of $30,000 year if they work or not. Shall we all move there then.. Can't seem to find any other references to this free money thing offhand, anyone else aware/got links/etc. ? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/1192652.stm
We can see why Saddam wanted to invade eh...

Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | Uh, this is not a Resourced Based Economy. It is a Nationalized Oil Industry Based Economy. Did you miss the part where everything but oil is imported? I don't think you actually read the article you linked.

Level: 0 CS Original | Hence the part that said 'along the road to', meaning not there yet. Its perhaps interesting to see in the TV programme mentioned how lazy people are, and overweight.. (So lazy they stop in their cars outside fast food places, and demand to be served without going through the drive through!) There is a moment where one fat guy asks the other to open his bottle of cola for him, and the guy is like 'thats so lazy!' Its also perhaps interesting how the people who do the real work there appear to be immigrants.. If the entire world was like that, just who would do the work..

Genuine American Monster Level: 70 CS Original | I work because I don't want to feel like a leech on the ass of society. Try it sometime. For some reason you think RBE means nothing more than you not having to get a job. Aren't you living in an RBE now?

Level: 0 CS Original | I wonder if there are figures on their volunteer levels ? I hear its 4% of the population in the UK and 6% in Germany. RBE is likely to be far more than just no jobs, just that Kuwait is an example of a country where you don't have to work. So, do we see what TZM says we will, which is people working because they want to ? Does anyone work and build things, or as you mentioned, it appears as if everything is imported.. I've worked since I was about 3, and I've never stopped. What would be nice is getting paid a bit more at times! And even nicer, not having to work.. If you want to talk about folk not working, just look at some of my lazy good for nothing neighbours who complain if you wake them up when your clearing up their trash! Do you think at first in any RBE style communities they will just hire cheap labour for jobs, rather than automate ? (Thats if you want a real debate, or do you want to throw more mud again as we engage in a downward spiral of keeping you amused during your twilight years..)
