I'm playing around with Office 2010, so I made a little spreadsheet so you can check what conditions you need for your own RBE to be successful.

Feel free to steal, show to TZMers or burn on DVD and sell for $5.

Cyborg, we should write a book. A collaborative effort.

You write the book, I'll take care of fancy graphics, charts and Malcolm Gladwell references.

Also, I never realized that the elimination of humans craving non-essential goods was one of the 'pillars' of an RBE. Sounds even lamer now.

I don't think it's explicitly a "pillar". But I think it is a necessary prerequisite.

Some animals crave non-essential goods when nesting or attracting a mate.

Are they evil?

It's either a pillar, or they actually believe that we can make hi-tech shit for 6 billion people, no exception allowed.

Animals are hedonistic due to instinctual motivation and do not have the conscious capacity to reason and make value judgments. Therefore, animal behavior cannot be considered to be evil in the way that human behavior can.

But not all humans have the conscious capacity to reason and make value judgements either.

Are those who lack that capacity not human?
