Does anyone know an experienced psychiatrist in their local chapter who might be willing to give up some of their free time and apply their skills to other members of the movement?

Stress is one of the biggest causes of illness in the world today, saps the strength of many members of the movement, and exacerbates any propensity that they may have towards mental illness. Therefore, I think it might help us to provide a permanent room on the ZM Teamspeak server just for members to figure out personal problems; after all, it's not like we're pressed for space on there right now.

I expect you're all aware, especially with that profound first quote displayed in addendum, that the conditions of living in a monetary system are probably the principal cause of most of these stresses, and that problem can't be solved right away. However, getting help in the form of just having someone who can listen, understand, break down individual problems and offer coping strategies, could help this movement's productivity immensely by getting people out of their holes of depression.

I know just in my own chapter I have seen a few people including myself come down with depression and related illnesses at times, and it gets in the way of both personal priorities and the movement's projects. I wouldn't be surprised if many of you have mirrored this observation.
If you don't happen to know any members with knowledge on the practical application of behavioural sciences to therapy, please do one thing for me and remember this idea while you keep an eye out for any people with that skillset.

I have a suggestion for them, quit the self deprecation, start to look at how their belief system is bullshit and it may just help them cheer the fuck up and stop being so damn paranoid.

Just a thought you know since theyre living in a fantasy and nightmare at the same time a bit of reality might help.

No self respecting PHD would provide Team Speak therapy.

They don't even want a psychiatrist as a psychiatrist would not be able to prescribe medication. They want a psychologist but they don't know the difference.

TZM is stupid.

You're right. My point was that there would be no way to prescribe medication over a Team Speak server. Thus making the search for a psychiatrist pointless.

What a bunch of grown-up pussies. What kind of fucking stress do they have? Not being able to buy Starcraft II? It's pathetic.

Somebody should post the primetime show with Robbins on their forums.

Ironically, we discussed the biological basis for schizophrenia today. It affects 1% of the US population, which is 50 times more prevalent than in Europe.

Isn't it true that there are more conspiracy theorists in the US?

According to a psychologists research Conspiracy theories are more likely to believed by:

1: People who dont trust their family and friends
2: People who jump to conclusions with little evidence
3: People of lower economic status

I'm still fascinated in finding out how many conspiracy theorists have a mental disorder.

Im wondering whether people who are prone to believe CT's lead themselves into having a mental disorder, rather than it being the case of them having it initially.

Because usually extreme paranoia and schizophrenia conditions are fairly obvious, the ones with the pre disposition may be treading dangerous territory believing in CT's.

An interesting question Aaron. How to separate idiots from crazies.

Would economic disparity be an indicator? For instance, Alex Jones is fairly well off while Alan Watt lives in a shack in the woods. Is AJ an idiot while AW is crazy?

Luck could be a factor, but it also shows something. Competence perhaps.

i would say there is a difference in a professional CT and a ranting idiot, a professional CT at least seems to have the skillsets to make a financial living from other peoples willingness to believe. Where as a ranting idiot will do it for free anywhere.

Well AW is a "professional CT" as much as AJ is.

Is AW a crazy while AJ is just a clever and lucky idiot?

If hes made money too from CT's and survives off it as a living there really is not much difference, other than perhaps one is more accutely paranoid than the other about a certain thing.

Or maybe AW is agoraphobic as well ?
While AJ is an extrovert

That's an interesting point. I'm not aware of AW doing anything in public as far as speaking tours and whatnot that the typical "pro CT" does.

Group therapy would be easiser in just making use of ordinary people.

Its a little amusing that a while ago I mentioned (Along with others..) that part of the use for IRC and live chat systems was they also operated as a therapy point for people, and someone (It could have been VTV..) mentioned that isn't what IRC/Chat is for..

So its rather nice to see a change of thought on this and a realisation that chat is indeed useful for such purposes.

Only problem might be..

I've noticed myself that many stressed people have one thing in common, a lack of money..

This is best solved by helping them get more of it :-)

I know tradional therapy is about helping people to find the answers themselves, but the reason people are stressed is because they can't do that! Its thus far more efficient if they just ask what they should do to improve their lives and then help them achieve that aim.

But I'm not sure TZM would welcome the idea of group therapy sessions where the goal is to figure out how to make everyone more wealthy by getting jobs or starting their own businesses..

Maybe a psychiatrist will be able to tell them blank slate theory is all wrong. Of course, they wouldn't listen to her and just kick her out, though...

Yeah. Businesses are evil, although being broke somehow doesn't seem to make things better for all those stressed out Zeitgeisters.

I've said before that some entrepreneurs share the trait of simply being unemployable and having to figure out how to do things by themselves, maybe some TZM guys fit that description.

If they'd just read some business books instead of watching Marimba Joe's videos about them crazy NWO peepul.

A CT named Alan Watt living in the woods is completely offensive to the philosopher Alan Watts.

Anyhow, I'm interested in conducting research on this. One route is to go to a psychiatric clinic and have the members with legitimate mental disorders fill out an "are you a CT?" type of questionnaire.

That, of course, would only target those with extremely severe disorders. It's quite possible that the kind we commonly find online have such mild symptoms that they function relatively well in RL.

You know those sites made by CTs where there are flashing gifs, unorganized images, and text with strange colors? I want to know if they are schizotypal.

Alan Watt has one of the ugliest web sites on the Internet, but the layout matches the personality of his listeners, so it works out I guess.
